We’d like to thank a local industry sponsor for their tremendous support for the ORCASat project. Foreman CNC recently manufactured two of our key spacecraft chassis components, the Spacecraft Side Panel and the Bus Module Bracket.
The side panel is used as one of two main structural components on the spacecraft, that when assembled forms the chassis. The side panel also includes mounting features for solar panels to be attached to the spacecraft chassis. The bus module bracket is mounted inside the outer frame and is required to secure and locate all of the spacecraft’s electronics.
The pictures show the components Foreman CNC manufactured integrated into the prototype spacecraft chassis. The electronics have been replaced with 3D printed mock-ups for the fit check. As you can see, Foreman CNC did an excellent job with these parts. They are a precision machining facility located here in Sidney BC.
